McLaughlin McGlathery Mediators

A professional arbitration and mediation firm.

“Bernard McLaughlin is considered by many to be one of the pre-eminent
mediators in the State of Louisiana and a defining presence on the fields of
mediation and arbitration. Since 1995, he has mediated approximately 3800
cases, employing a variety of mediation styles and enjoys a settlement rate
of over 90%. He has a highly versatile style designed to “close the deal”
— he is pro-active and hard-working — and renowned for his ability to
digest all of the materials (position papers, expert reports, medicals,
deposition summaries, etc) sent to him and recall those factual and legal
issues without using notes. Mr. Mclaughlin is a patient listener — he lets
the parties tell their story and then sets out to create a solution
utilizing a challenging and serious style tempered with a sense of humor and
compassion. Mr. McLaughlin’s mediations may range from 1/2 day to several
weeks in length in venues all over the United States and may involve two
parties or up to a hundred parties. He mediates disputes in over 20 areas of
the law. Mr. McLaughlin is a constantly sought-after speaker on the topics
of mediation, arbitration, professionalism and ethics in mediation. He is
AV-rated and listed in “The Best Lawyers in America” in the fields of
mediation and arbitration.”
